F.A.Q

What is canyoning?

It consists of the descent of the narrowest sections of rivers or ravines, impossible to travel without submerging in the water, swimming, walking, descending walls and waterfalls or diving through underground passages.

How does a day of ravines go by?

With a good breakfast and with the necessary material in the vehicle, we will go to the starting point of the approach. Afterwards, we will walk to the riverbed or the ravine. There we will put on the wetsuit and the harness, if necessary. Jumps, slides, siphons, rappels ... await us in a spectacular natural environment. Walking, swimming, climbing ... we follow the river down while we discover its valuable ecosystem.

Is some preparation necessary or is a good physical condition enough?

No specific preparation is necessary. It is about knowing your own limitations and having a physical shape according to the minimum required for each descent, since it is a complete activity in which you walk, climb, climb, jump, nothing ...

Is jumping mandatory?

Sometimes it is mandatory for progress: it is about low height jumps and easy to perform. In larger jumps you can install the rope to repel. If someone thinks they may have problems, it is essential to warn the organization and the guide beforehand.

Do you need to know how to swim?

In aquatic ravines the water can cover our entire body and in areas you have to progress by swimming. Although the material helps us float, we must inform the organization and the guide in advance to choose a level ravine.

Is it easy to repel?

The guide will always teach us to do it correctly beforehand and then he will always supervise us and if appropriate he will assure us.

From what age can you descend ravines?

The recommended age to start canyoning is 10 years old, but for younger ages the Company offers family activities suitable for all members.

The water is very cold?

Between 8ºC and 15ºC depending on the time of year and location.

What is the best time?

The canyon varies in each season of the year. After the rains and the thaw they have more water (which is colder), so they require more technique, and in summer the flow decreases and even disappears, so there are usually more people.

What footwear should I wear?

It is about wearing light, comfortable and adherent footwear that protects our feet as much as possible.

Do you have to bring food and drink?

Yes. Depending on the schedule of the activity we will stop before, during, or after it for a light picnic, drink and rest.

If I am federated, do I need insurance?

By regulation, employers are obliged to take out civil liability and accident assistance insurance, included in the price of the activity.
